乳幼児に肺炎「RSウイルス」患者、過去最多に

乳幼児に肺炎や気管支炎などを起こす「ＲＳウイルス」の感染が広がり、１１月中旬から下旬にかけての１週間あたりの患者数が、調査を開始した２００３年以降で最多となった。

　国立感染症研究所は来年１月頃まで流行が続くとみて、注意を呼びかけている。

　同研究所によると、全国約３０００か所の小児科が報告した患者数は今年８月下旬から急増、１１月１７～２３日で５１５１人に達し、１２年１０月初めの週の５００７人を超えて過去最多となった。

　ＲＳウイルスは、感染者のせきやくしゃみなどの飛まつや鼻汁などに含まれ、吸い込んだり、付着した手で口や喉、鼻などに触れたりして感染。６か月未満の乳児が感染すると肺炎や気管支炎の原因となる。ぜんそくの持病がある高齢者も重症化の恐れがある。
